Contemporary Voices: Rejoice and Sing – Come explore the glory of choral singing with us. Featured works include Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb”, Persichetti’s “Song of Peace”, Ives’ “Psalm 90”, and the Ithaca premier of Horvit’s “Land of Dreams” honoring the 50th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel. Rousing spirituals will round out the program. Guest Musical Artist: Joseph Murphy, saxophone. Guest Musical Director: Jeff Gemmel.

Schütz’s Christmas Oratorio, with NYS Baroque. We are delighted and honored to be the musical guests of such an outstanding musical institution presenting such a compelling setting of the Christmas story. Musical Director: Robert Seletzky.

Barnes Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY

The Torrid Zone. Defy the cold and damp with music from warmer climes. The featured work on this program is Mario Lavista’s Missa, a haunting and beautiful setting of the mass, something akin to an El Greco painting made audible. In the second half we turn from the sacred to the earthy, with lively choral settings of Latin-American dances, such as the habañeramalapá, and joropo. Treat your valentine to something special. Musical Director: Scott Tucker.

On the Town. Join us for an evening of dionysian delights. Bring a discerning ear and palate for aural and oral treats. Songs by Bernstein, and Duke Ellington, Broadway standards, and Broadway parodies! The program will be similar to our cabaret of last year. Guest artist: Ed Murray, piano.

Motets, Mélodies, and Monsters. Our farewell concert of the season presents a varied program of masterworks from the Renaissance through the moderns. Featuring Bach’s “Jesu, meine Freude”, Poulenc’s “Sept Chansons”, and a wild ride with Paul Patterson’s “Spare Parts”. Musical Director: Larry Doebler
