The Cayuga Vocal Ensemble, based in Ithaca NY, has been presenting quality performances of vocal music to the southern tier and surrounding areas since 1975. The group, performing first under the name Ithaca Art Ensemble, then as the Gerald Wolfe Singers, has offered everything from madrigals to musicals, Bach to Britten, oratorio to opera. Past performances have included Mozart’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and Haydn’s Creation (each with chamber orchestra), Vaughan Williams’ Mass in g-minor, Bach motets and cantatas, and selections from the very best choral music from the medieval period through the 21st century. CVE has collaborated with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and with New York State Baroque, and has presented joint concerts with the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble and Madrigalia (Rochester.)
In 2016 the group marked its 40th anniversary with a special season of celebration. Enjoy a walk through our past as you view our 40th anniversary slide show.
