The Cayuga Vocal Ensemble joins the choir of St. Luke Lutheran Church and the Syracuse Civic Symphony Orchestra in a concert observing the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. The concert will feature J.S. Bach’s Cantata 80, “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott” (“A Mighty Fortress Is Our God”) and movements from the Mass in B Minor. Free and open to the public!

This year’s theme is Bernstein and Beyond, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of America’s beloved composer. Come enjoy favorite numbers from Bernstein’s great shows, as well as other musical surprises. You can help CVE even more by taking part in the Silent Auction.

“Celebrating Scotland, Again!”  Presenting music from and about Scotland, featuring classical choral pieces from 1500 to the present day. Music by several living Scottish composers will be featured, as well as settings of poems by Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns, and arrangements of folk songs. CVE is joined by local bagpipe virtuoso Michael Roddy. This will be CVE’s debut performance at St. Catherine’s.  Ample parking is available.  Discount tickets in advance (adult $15) available online, at Hickey’s Music Store, Dey/Adams St., and at Pastimes in Dewitt Mall, Ithaca.  Tickets at the door $20 (adult); $5 (student).
