“Ancient Texts”ANCIENT TEXTS
This concert features Felix Mendelssohn’s full-length Psalm 42, supplemented by pieces by Hildegard von Bingen, J.S. Bach, Lili Boulanger, David Childs, and Reena Esmail. The texts include hymns and psalms, along with poems by Rumi and Amir Kusro. Under the direction of Sean Linfors, the choir will be performing pieces in Latin, German, English, and Farsi, spanning nearly a thousand years of choral music. The group will be accompanied by Emmett Scott on piano and organ.
